BENEFITS
Shift Differentials
In addition to your base rate which is based on total years of experience, if you work the evening or night shift on a weekday, you will receive a differential of 18%. On the weekend, the differential is 10% on days, and 25% on evenings and nights.
Dental plan
We offer employees a dental plan that provides preventive and restorative benefits such as cleanings, X-rays, fillings, root canals, and periodontics. Dependents are covered until age 19. Additionally, employee discounts are given for services rendered at the Seton Health Dental Center.
Disability coverage
New York State statutory benefits: These benefits are provided to Seton Health employees once they have been absent from work, due to medical disability, for more than five days.
Disability benefit time: Upon employment, employees accrue disability benefit time at a rate of 2.31% of hours worked, exclusive of overtime each pay period. These hours may then be used to supplement your New York State benefits, up to the amount of your normal paycheck.
Voluntary long-term and short-term disability insurance: Full- and part-time employees are eligible to purchase additional disability insurance. Amounts of coverage and elimination periods may be chosen to individually meet your needs.
Health insurance
A menu of health insurance options is available to employees as soon as the 1st of the month following hire. Premiums are automatically deducted on a pre-tax basis, unless you choose otherwise.
Health care services
Full-time employees and their family members using Seton Health facilities are not required to pay out-of-pocket expenses, including co-pays, up to a maximum write-off of $600 per employee per calendar year. For part-timers the maximum write-off is $300.
Health care and dependant care accounts
These pre-tax plans help pay for medical/dental/vision expenses not covered by insurance and tax-deductible dependent care expenses.
Life insurance
Basic life insurance: All full-time employees receive a benefit equal to their annual salaries, at no cost. This benefit is not available for part-time employees.
Voluntary supplemental life insurance: Full- and part-time employees may purchase additional term life insurance at reasonable rates for themselves or family members.
Paid time off
A state-of-the-art paid time off program offers maximum flexibility through the accrual of a combined bank of time. New hires begin accruing at a rate of 9% of hours paid, exclusive of overtime. This accrual rate increases with years of service. Time off earned is used for vacations, personal days, sick days, and holidays.
Retirement plans
Defined benefit plan: After one consecutive year of employment, employees are automatically enrolled in a free plan administered by Seton Health's sponsor, Ascension Health. The plan pays a guaranteed benefit upon retirement, based on years of service and average highest salary.
Tax-sheltered annuity (403b): This is a tax-sheltered savings plan with an employer match. Seton Health matches 50 cents on the dollar of an employee's contribution, up to a maximum employer contribution of 3% of an employee's annual salary.
Wellness Center
Employees are eligible to use the Wellness Center at Schuyler Ridge free of cost after completion of the necessary training and completing the appropriate paperwork. Training will be offered once a month, please see Human Resources for details.
